Every year we rotate holidays with our families. This year we spent Thanksgiving with Aaron's family in Houston. We also went ahead and exchanged Christmas presents thus giving the name "Thanksmas".

I think it is becoming evident (as if there was debate in the first place) that these two are brothers. Last week was Jacob's 4 month check up. He weighs a whopping 19.1 pounds and is 27.5 inches long. Yes, the doctor gave me a lecture on lifting heavy objects so i won't hurt myself. I looked back in Nathan's baby book. At his 4 month check up he weighed 19 pounds and was 27 inches.

Sometimes, it gets a little scary.

Great Grandparent Fun! and other fun pics

Over the past several weeks, we have been fortunate enough to see almost all of the boys great grandparents (with the exception of aaron's grandfather who we will hopefully see over the holidays) Below is Nathan, Jacob, my Father, and his mother whom we affectionately refer to a Tub.

I had to get up in the middle of reading a book to Nathan to check on Jacob. I guess i didn't get back quit enough b/c he proceeded to continue without me. I totally love this kid! (please disregard the mis-matched pj's. We, on occasion like to particpate in a "Mis-matched Jamma" Night aka Mom didn't get all the clothes washed. what does he care? He's 2!)

It's been too long...i'm sorry. But look i have beautiful children (forgive me now?)

He was following a cat into the cabinet. I opened the cabinet up to find this and was promptly told to close it back.Playing with little brother on the floor.

We love bath time! Nathan is actually in the tub next too him, but i couldn't get a "G" rated shot. I did however get some good shots to show to future girlfriends!

Nana bought a beautiful new rocking horse which we all love.

Grandpa made the night by putting us on the roof of the van instead of in the car seat. He wanted to ride home up there, but I decided it wasn't the best idea - too many bugs.

Sorry for the delay...i find life a bit "busy" right now, but we are all beginning to settle in just fine. Life with two kids is every bit as wonderful as i thought it would be. I have been so incredibly blessed!

Jacob Matthew Pritchett joined us on June 19 at 7:33am. He was 10lbs 4oz and measured 21 1/2 in long. Mom is doing great and baby is doing great. Hopefully we will be home by Sunday where I can put up more pictures.

Nothing new this week, just thought I'd let everyone know that I am still pregnant. At this point the "fun" of pregnancy is gone, I'm just ready to have a baby. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow so I will let everyone know how I am doing after that.

But in other news we had a breakthrough last week...when we asked Nathan were Jacob was, he smiled, patted my belly, then gave Jacob a hug. Melt me heart or what!? I can't wait to have my two boys together!

Cousin Fun & VBS

Sorry it's been such a long time, but moving/unpacking was all-consuming there for a while. And now I'm in the misted of Vacation Bible School. I have the most wonderful group of volunteers helping me this year! All they ever do is yell at me to sit down and put my feet up while they are handling the problems. I guess it helps to mention that I am HUMONGOUS right now and I think everyone is afraid I'm going to deliver at the church! But as always, Nathan is having a wonderful time! I am met at my car in the mornings by a group of girls ready to take him away to play.

The other fun item of the week is that our cousin, Ryan Grace, has come to town! Nathan is having a blast chasing her around, copying everything she does and just generally trying to keep up. She has been such a joy this week!

Tuesday afternoon, we went to the Natural Science Museum to see the dinosaurs and snakes. Ryan wasn't too sure about the snakes, but my fearless child jumped right in and started petting one! Not much scares this boy!
In other news, yes, I'm still pregnant. All my VBS volunteers are convinced I will not be at VBS on Friday, and are quite surprised when they see me every morning. But my doctors visit this afternoon confirms that everything is going well, and we are still set for a June 19 delivery. Now if I can just survive this heat. . .

Moving! & other news

I know it's been forever since I posted but life has been busy lately! Anyone else feel like the world is turning a little bit faster?

Well - the exciting news that has consumed much of my time lately is the fact that we sold our house! We signed the contract on Monday afternoon. Then the other good news is we are buying a new house! We put in an offer Tuesday night. So here's the time line for the next week or so.
1. close on our house Friday, May 2
2. New owners take possession Monday, May 5
3. Move in with my parents for a few nights
4. Close on our new home Tuesday, May 6 (hopefully)
5. take possession at closing and move in!
Are we crazy or what!?
But here is the beautiful house we are going to be living in. I still don't feel worthy to live in such a nice house - we are truely blessed.
So any one out there feel like hauling some boxes...stop on by!

Other news, I have finished my first semester of graduate school, and I will very soon have my provisional teaching licence, one step closer to becoming a teacher.

Also, we now have a more concrete due date for our little Jacob. I will be going in for a C-section either June 19 or 20th! I can start the countdown! Other fun information: I am 30 weeks, but at my last appointment I measured 32 weeks. My doctor thinks even in delivering Jacob early, we are still going to have a 10lb baby! Me and my GIANT children *sigh* a mothers love. . .

Easter was fun for all this year! Nathan actually got to "hunt" for easter eggs and each egg had a car inside. This boy is mad for cars (he would probably sleep with them if I let him); it's pretty cute. But then Nana & Grandpa got him a sandbox, and oh boy! what fun we had then!

Spring is such a tease...

I don't know about the rest of you, but i am ready for spring. Nathan has had a runny nose for several months straight now. We went back to the doctor yesterday to find out he has bronchitis and yet another ear infection (second this month). I hope warm weather really does mean less runny noses. But Aaron and I made a hard choice in light of Nathan's rash of illnesses. We have decided to take him out of daycare completely. I work days, Aaron will work nights and Nathan will be (cross your fingers) well! Prayers are always welcome! Now on to the good part - the pictures!

Why do we really buy all these toys for our children? For my child, all it really takes is a box. Isn't that smile the most beautiful you have ever seen? It's the smile of oblivious joy, not knowing that in a few months, his little life is about to be turned upside down! But what fun it will be to have two of these smiles running around!

It almost looks like he's gearing up to tell a joke. Do you think he will be cursed with the same dry humor his grandfather and I share? for his sake, I hope not.

Train 'em early, train 'em right! So Aaron had the leaves raked into a nice pile. But apparently it is loads of fun to shuffle your feet through raked leaves and they were quickly scattered about. But then, my ever helpful son grabs the rake and actually starts to pile them up again. Yes, that pile next to the house was made by Nathan. I see Saturday morning lawn duty in his future!Form looks good! I think he's got it!

I always knew i would love my children. But no one can prepare you for the intensity of love you feel. That face brings tears to my eyes and makes my heart leap! What was life before him? And then I think, if we love our children this much then how much more significant is the phrase "Children of God"? If He loves me half as much as I love my children, then I truly don't deserve it, but am so thankful for it. Can I get an amen?

BOY!

That's right, my future is filled with nothing but video games, stinky shoes and sports equipment lying around the house, and being there to help pick out valentine's presents for the girlfriends of the month. I will be out matched and out numbered but this is going to be a blast!

Everything looked great in the ultrasound. Of course, my child is already measuring large. The ultrasound tech commented on the length of his femur. Maybe another long baby?

Now we just need to come up with a name. We're stumped and we are open to suggestions!

Yes! Mississippi got some snow. Aaron and I have not seen it snow here since we were in high school, which, scary enough to say, was years ago. If you look real closely at the pictures you can see the maybe 1/4" that accumulated on the cars. It was fantastic though and Nathan just sat there pointing at the flakes coming down. It was cute.

Monumental Day!

Today was a great day in the Pritchett household! For miles around you could hear us singing and dancing around the campfire that was Aaron's Algebra book. Yes, Aaron passed college algebra. We, as a family, made it through this without any divorces or sleeping on the couch. Can I just say how proud I am of my husband and his efforts to finish school!

Nathan had a fantastic Christmas and made off like a bandit in the toy department (if I do say so). We first had Christmas with my parents and grandparents the Saturday before. Then we packed up the mini-van and headed to Houston to spend the week with Aaron's family. We had so much fun in both places and were so thankful to be able to spend the holidays with both.

Baby Jail

As Aaron was peacefully sitting in his recliner one night, he started hearing the repeated call of, "Dada! Dada!" Curious to see what could get our little man so excited he turned the corner. There he found our proud child locked in Casey's crate, a feat that was incredibly amusing to him! So now we know where to put him if he's ever bad. Don't ever send your children to our house!And this picture? Well, I thought these were just darn cute pajama's and I couldn't help but take a picture!

Amongst the stomach flu, trips to the E.R. (yes, we are all finally much better, although Nathan never got sick - lucky guy!) we finally got around to buying a christmas tree! Nathan still doesn't understand christmas, but he loves the twinkly lights and having a live tree in our dining room (better known as Nathan's playroom). Now, if I can only find the energy to finish putting ornaments on it. I keep trying to tell myself that Nathan will just pull them off, so there is no need to put them up. But that won't work - a Christmas tree needs ornaments, otherwise I just killed a tree and put in my house for no reason.

For Thanksgiving we went to my grandparents house in Alabama. Nathan had great fun playing with his cousins, grandparents and great grandparents despite the terrible sinus infection he has been fighting off the past few days. What a trooper!

We went to the doctor the other day for Nathan's 15 month check up and a flu shot. I don't know why I'm surprised but I am proud to say that our son measured 34 inches, which is off the charts for his age. He is measuring the size of a 21 month old baby right now. Apparently, I was the same way at this age (and I came out pretty tall...for a girl) so odds are we're looking at over 6 feet. Can we say basketball? I guess since I'm with Nathan all the time, I just don't realize how big he is, but lately people have been commenting on how large he is. Who knew?

Otherwise everything else checked out fine. The doctor said he couldn't make Nathan any more healthy if he wanted to.

New "Best" Friend

On Monday, October 8th our long time friends Matt & Emily welcomed their son, Thomas Hewitt. He was 7lbs 7 oz and 19.5 inches long. The most heard comment was how big his feet were. I personally didn't think they were that big, but I suppose after having an almost 10 lb baby, all newborns are going to look small to me!

Mother and baby are doing great, and hope to be going home Thursday.

So Nathan has had some type of cold or infection for two weeks now. Its just pitiful when you 15 month old snores louder than his father. My only fear is that he is allergic to Casey. And as you can see by this picture, thats a problem. These two play together, Nathan has learned how to "quickly" eat all his veggies (and yes, Casey likes veggies), and when Nathan gets tired Casey becomes a great pillow. What are we to do?!

And here is my son trying to cut his own toenails. We are defiantly in the "mimic" phase!

Today was quite monumental (and a bit sad). I took Nathan to Open House at Lakeside Preschool where he will be attending Mother's Morning out. naive me thought this would be more like the nursery at church on Sunday mornings. But no! this is school. He has a school bag, they teach a curriculum, I had to sign up for class parties. I guess this is it - he's not my little baby anymore. I only hope I can drop him off the first day without crying!

Quarantine!

This week, our darling boy brought home a nasty cold. Being the loving thoughtful son that he is, Nathan looked up at me and said, "Mom, I love you sooo much, I am going to show my love through sharing." Like magic, I had his cold too! He also chose to love Aaron, and his Grandpa Pete.

I finally broke down, and took him to the doctor today. As my son is laughing and smiling in the waiting room, I'm thinking ,"Why am I here? He is feeling better already." Then the doctor looks at me and says, "well, what we have here is a blessing and a curse. Obviously, Nathan weathers illness pretty well, and has a high tollerance, but that makes it hard for you to know when he's really that sick." And Nathan is that sick! It turns out that he hasn't been sleeping through the night, or getting any better because he has an ear infection in both ears! But now with antibiotics administered, and soothing ear drops soothing, we hope our little boy will soon be sleeping through the night again (b/c I need some sleep!)
